Audi / volkswagen programming

Please make sure to have all remotes you want to work with the vehicle, new and old, with you at the time of programming as absent remotes will discontinue to function until reprogrammed.

You can also find this information located in your owners manual. Please read through the programming before attempting.

**NOTE** You must have two cut keys that currently can turn in the ignition and in the drivers door to attempt the following programming

  1. Get in your vehicle, close the driver’s door, and roll down the driver’s side window.
  2. Put the first key in the ignition and turn to the ON position as far as it will go without starting the vehicle.
  3. Put the second key into the lock outside the drivers door and turn it manually to lock the vehicle doors. Do NOT open the drivers door as this will exit the programming mode. Simply reach out the window and put the key into the door lock.
  4. Pick up the new remote and press the unlock button once. At this point either the horn will honk or the indicator lights (hazard lamps/blinkers) will flash.  Wait six (6) seconds before continuing.
  5. After six (6) seconds have passed press and release the unlock button on the same remote one (1) time .
  6. Once you have programmed your remote, exit the programming mode by turning the key off and removing the key.
  7. If you have additional remotes you need to program, you will have to start the programming again from STEP 1 and replace STEP 5 with one of the following options depending on what remote you are programming:
  • For a second remote you wish to program, pick up the remote and press the unlock button twice.
  • For a third remote you wish to program, pick up the third remote and press the unlock button three (3) times.
  • For a fourth remote, pick up the fourth remote and press the unlock button four (4) times.

Test all remotes to ensure they are functioning. If any did not program, restart the programming procedure from STEP 1 and switch the order in which you are programming the remotes.

Keys will require a trip to either a dealership or an automotive locksmith for the programming.
